How OddsHunter picks are made, what EV means, and how to read confidence, risk and odds.
OddsHunter is a data-driven EuroLeague basketball analysis platform. We combine live stats, injury data, historical head-to-head records, and model reasoning to identify betting picks with positive Expected Value — meaning the odds on offer are better than the true probability of the outcome.
No. OddsHunter provides analysis and information for entertainment purposes only. We are not licensed gambling advisors. Sports betting involves risk — results are never guaranteed. Please gamble responsibly and only bet what you can afford to lose.
Picks are generated before each EuroLeague round, typically 1–3 days before the first game tips off. Our data (injuries, standings, form) is refreshed daily during the season.
Currently we focus exclusively on the EuroLeague — the top-tier European basketball competition featuring 20 clubs. We go deep on one competition rather than spreading thin across many.
Expected Value (EV) measures whether a bet offers value relative to its true probability. If we calculate a team has a 60% chance to win, but the bookmaker's odds imply only 50%, that's positive EV — you're getting paid more than the risk justifies over the long run. We only publish picks where EV > 0.
The confidence score (52–85%) represents how certain our model is about the pick direction — not the probability of winning. A 75% confidence pick means the data strongly supports the pick. It factors in data quality, sample size, team consistency, and how clear the edge is.
Risk level reflects the volatility of the pick: Low Risk — strong favourite, consistent form, short odds (< 1.45); Medium Risk — competitive game, moderate odds, some uncertainty; High Risk — underdog or long odds (> 2.50), higher variance. A pick can still be high value at high risk.
A spread bet (also called a handicap) means you're betting on a team to win by more than a set margin, or to lose by less. For example: "Real Madrid -6.5" means Real Madrid must win by 7+ points. "Zalgiris +8.5" means Zalgiris can lose by up to 8 and the bet still wins.
A totals bet (Over/Under) is a wager on the combined final score of both teams. "Over 175.5" means the total points scored must exceed 175.5. "Under 165.5" means the combined score must be below 165.5.
"pp edge" stands for percentage point edge — the difference between our calculated win probability and the bookmaker's implied probability. For example, if we think a team has a 62% chance to win but the odds imply 55%, the edge is +7pp.
You can see our full historical win/loss record on the Track Record page, split by season. We track every settled pick transparently — wins, losses, and pushes. Sports betting always involves variance; no system wins every pick.
ROI (Return on Investment) shows the profit per unit staked, assuming equal flat stakes on every pick. A +5% ROI means for every 100 units bet you net 5 units of profit over the long run. This accounts for both winning and losing picks.
Never. All settled results are permanent in our database. Our Track Record page shows every pick we've ever made and its outcome, kept in its own season.
The Analyst can explain any pick in detail, compare teams head-to-head, discuss injury situations, analyze player form, predict upcoming match outcomes, estimate player stat lines, and assess a team's playoff chances — all based on our data.
Yes. The Analyst has access to our full database including the latest standings, team form, recent box scores, injury reports, and all current pick recommendations. It is not a generic chatbot — it is connected to live EuroLeague data.
The Analyst performs a fresh analysis when you ask a question, which may reflect slightly different weighting of factors. The published picks are generated by a separate, stricter pipeline focused on positive EV. Think of the chat as your personal analyst and the picks as our highest-confidence recommendations.
